Dear students, please send this activity to the following email address englishsantainfancia@gmail.com, the deadline is March 27th.

Read about Oxjam.

Every year in October, in cafés, bars, youth clubs and town halls across the UK, bands, singers and musicians play some very special concerts.
The month long event is called Oxjam, and it is organized by the international charity Oxfam. Everyone who goes to a concert buys a ticket, and all the money then goes to Oxfam, who use it to help poor people across the world.
It started in Belfast, in Northern Ireland in 2004 when the musician Maurice Macartney organized a small concert in a bar and gave the money from the tickets to the charity. From 2006, it became a national event and now every year, thousands of people go to concerts and hear musicians play everything from rock and pop music to reggae and hip hop. Some famous musicians perform as well.
In 2014, over 150,000 people went to an Oxjam concert and there were over 700 events across Britain from small events in people’s homes to large concerts in big concert halls.
In the first eight years of Oxjam, there were about 4,500 concerts and events, and over 1.2 million people went to an Oxjam concert. But best of all, Oxfam raised over £2.3million to help the work they do.
